Our community here in Argentina began in 1997. We are a small community of about 45 people. Our community is located in a semirural environment, near the capital, Buenos Aires. Our main occupations are organic gardening, whole wheat bread baking, and the development of alternative energy & Permaculture methods. Our life together in community is a simple expression of the love we have for one another. The deep personal relationships we have with each other are being built daily through our common life in the community. Our community and our common life together are based on our obedience to the simple, clear teachings of our master, Yahshua, the Son of God. Our lives and relationships are being restored daily through our life of love. We invite and welcome all who are interested in our life and our community to come and visit. Our homes and our hearts are open to you.

A 14 ha. organic farm with fruits and vegetables. The main crop is apples, from which we make juice. We make preserves of almost everything, and sun dry fruits during the summer. Almost everything we eat comes from our gardens and orchards - we bottle/ preserve fruits and veggies. Also the seeds to grow these things come almost entirely from last years crop. We're located very close to the Andes, so day and weekend trips to the mountains are possible.

We rebuilt a century old farmhouse into an ecological guesthouse and course centre. We host groups and guests from all over the world and offer them exclusively certified organic, mainly vegan food, partly from our own garden; we use about 1ha out of 10ha land surrounding us for growing vegetables. We live with our 4 children (born between 1994 and 2000). Whenever we have groups and guests, the kitchen is run by a professional cook and several volunteers. Volunteers for the garden are welcome between Feb-Nov. Our centre is situated in the SE of Belgium, on the French border, in beautiful natural surroundings.

We have 70 acres of land, 5 acres of mixed orchard, 2 acres of cacao. We are 2 miles from road. No drugs, cigarettes or alcohol. We have a "WWOOFer" house, 10 minute walk from our house. We are perpetually building, always expanding our farm. We need help maintaining an existing mixed orchard, expanding our acreage at the periphery. Also with construction, chickens, and garden. Basically, we need help with whatever project we are working on.

LOCATION : Four blocks south of the centre of Hopkins directly on the beach
TRAVEL : by bus from Dangriga (20 mi.) 2.$ U.S.
Near the centre of the seaside village of Hopkins in Belize there is a small hotel known as Ransoms Seaside Garden. This garden was established in 1981 and is a fine and rare collection of tropical flora cultivated along purely organic lines and serves to be the setting for a two-room cabana and a single Garden Room that opens to the lobby and the beach. Help is needed to maintain the watering and repotting of the collection as well as general cleaning and upkeep, propagation, germination, etc. My name is Baron Swann and I have lived here in Hopins by the Sea for over 20 years. As a dedicated gardener I have created a unique garden that has become internationally renown. The accommodation that I may offer is a private room fully furnished with appointments for comfort and repose. It would be my pleasure to host a single male gardener who has carpentry skills and/or creative skills in pottery, for I make Pots and Jardineers for the collection and usually need assistance now that I have, by the Grace of God, become ageable and mellow and somewhat slow.

Family organic farm on the coast in southern Belize. We grow mostly fruit tree crops and we also have a small-scale sustainable logging operation on a seasonal basis. Lots of work. Sometimes buggy. Very isolated; access is only by boat. If you need to use alcohol or other drugs to get through a day, do NOT visit us. We require a minimum stay of 7 days and are open to much longer visits. Communications are slow and unreliable, but we always answer if your query reaches us. Keep trying. Please tell us about your skills, interests and why you want to visit us. Please write in English. Phone very unreliable.

Secluded Dalmatian village 15 min drive from the beaches that were destroyed in the war. Nobody lives there now and the need for organic food is enormous. House is refurbished by the government and contains 3 bedrooms. Land next to it has not been worked on for the last 10 years and it is planned for it to become an organic farm. The plan is to grow an olive orchard and grow various vegetables. This is a pilot project and is a great start to teach locals about organics. Need for very experienced farmers and project managers who will commit long term. This is a story of a beautiful Dalmatian village A local NGO for promotion of organic production is very active. We prefer vegetarians and vegans. This is a perfect place for expanding tourism beyond laying on the beach, it is a great challenge and with some hard work it can become one of the best organic, vegetarian farms.

This traditional small farm in Arcadia has been neglected for over 20 years. We are clearing invaded scrub and trees, re-establishing the vineyard and the fruitt and nut trees (but not the former wheat and livestock). The land is steep and terraced, so almost all work must be done by hand and this farm will never be a commercial venture. This is NOT a suitable farm if you want to learn about contemporary organic farming on a commercial scale.

Permaculture & small organic farms mainly horticultural and agro forestry farming activities on the shores of Lake Victoria in Kenya. Accommodation available for 2 people preferably in pairs or a married couple. There is a separate crucial project within the NET-WORK, which inter alia involves working with orphans and other vulnerable and disadvantaged (ie - street children, beach boys and girls) in the area to access basic needs ie education, food, medical care (drugs), shelter, clothing among other things. Anyone wishing to help is asked to contribute any amount towards the project support. You might think in terms of a fund raising event for this before you leave your country of residence. The host family have professional back-grounds; Michael (56) a career educationalist, environmentalist and a UNEP global 500 Laureate (1990), while Jane (48) is a trained teacher and social worker, trained in Canada. Both are widely travelled but now concentrate on farming and children support project services, with special emphasis on girl child and young women as the main target groups.

We are developing a rural retreat center, ecological campground, and intentional community. We live without outside power or water - we generate power from our solar panels and catch water from the rain. Volunteers work on a variety of tasks including vegetarian cooking, ecological building, cleaning, activity development, trail work and gardening. Volunteers work five days a week for 5.5 hours per day. There are also opportunities for language classes and exchange, developing specific skills, and working with people from the local community. Smoking and drugs are not allowed, alcohol is acceptable outside of working hours. Please read our website for more information. There is a small weekly charge which covers costs of food, accommodation, and many activities. Exceptions can be made for long-term volunteers, though every volunteer pays for their first two weeks.

I have a small property in Mexico and am interested in establishing raised beds for an organic vegetable and flower garden. I cannot be there from April until October and would like to find someone with gardening experience who would make a six month commitment to this project. The house is small and brand new, with lovely curves, sleeping alcove in one large room, kitchenette and composting toilet. Rent is normally $330 per month, but I would only ask for $150 and work trade. It is a wooded property, located in a friendly rancho outside of San Miguel Allende in the high desert country. I bought it 8 years ago, and it has taken me this long to pay off the original loans and raise a small but magical house. There is a well with good water. Property is about 1/3 acre. Have access to irrigation water from artesian spring that abutts property. Now I really want to put in a garden, but I have to go home to work for six months. Looking for the person who can love this spot of earth as much as I do. Rainy season will begin around May or June. Now the country is blossoming sweet perfumed yellow mesquite and guisache.

Permaculture practice and learn in MEXICO, we need help all year long. Share your own experiences and knowledge; we are a small rustic farm in the forest mountains south of Mexico City, 45 mins away from it, and close to important archaeological sites. Heavy rainy season and dry season offers diversity of experiences. Come not only for the work but for the fun too! We emphasize cultural interchange. Meet other people doing the same for our environment. We need long and short term volunteers. Due to the project, we prefer people with some permaculture basic knowledge, not a must, except for long term helpers, who would be in charge at the farm. We especially need at least one long term person to be in charge and to cover the spaces between short term WWOOF visits. It is better if you contact at least one month before your arrival, you must be able to give an email address at which you can be contacted.

We have an organic dairy farm which produces basically milk & meat. Our production is a compromise between modern & idealistic farming. This summer we are interested in having a couple of responsible, experienced WWOOFers, who could live & work for two months on our summer farm in the mountains. With the right expectations this could be a once in a lifetime experience, as you will live in a very rustic setting, which allows a glimpse of summer farm life, in the old days. Occasional WWOOFers are welcome from May - September, on the main Farm where we grow & harvest winter food for the cattle and a herb and vegetable garden for ourselves. There are also 2 donkeys & a cat to take care of. We are a young transnational couple. Regina is from Trinidad & Tobago and Lars is Norwegian. We are interested in having WWOOFers who are open, curious, interested & engaged. Vegetarians are not a problem but you must tell this in advance. Vegans could be a problem - we do live on a dairy farm.

Cela is a 50 acre woodland holding with a year round unpolluted stream stiuated in hills about 5 miles from the SW coast. About half the land is old cork oak woodland with its associated eco-system intact and the rest is land which we are reclaiming from eucalyptus planting, mixed woodland and garden patches. Apart from the abundant wildlife, we have wild boars crossed with domestic pigs for our own use. We derive little income from the land, to which we loosely refer as a nature reserve, but we have a massive work load keeping tracks open and some control over what would otherwise become an inaccessible fire risk. We need help clearing & burning undergrowth, clearing tracks and cultivating gardens. Also more skilled help is needed with pruning cork trees and fencing. July - early Sept is very hot & dry with high fire risk so we don't encourage visitors at this time. As Cela is isolated we would, for social reasons, prefer couples. We offer a two-berth caravan or camping and if you wish to self-cater we can come to an arrangement regarding work load.

Small holding in the SouthWest corner of the Algarve where the emphasis is on being self-sufficient. being off the grid among a thriving alternative community where the main skills needed are wood framing, building with stone and working the land. There is an orchard strated as well as a large garden and much work is needed on the wooden buildings. We eat meat and are easy going. There is a small separate wood cabin for WWOOFers to stay in.

We are creating a low-impact holiday retreat with yurt accommodation in a beautiful forested area of the Algarve. Our situation is remote, but the area has a vibrant international community coexisting with traditional Portuguese life and plenty of social life around the village. We are currently building yurts on decks and will be renovating our ruined adobe farmhouse. We plan to build an earthbag roundhouse and eco (reedbed) swimming pool soon. Meanwhile there is much land clearing to be done, and construction of woodland walks, etc. Contact us to find out our current projects and the type of help we need.

30 hectares set in the central mountains of Madeira Island. The land is on southern slope of the island and is at an altitude of 1, 300 metres. Orchard area and vegetables are certified by the Portuguese Organic Association. Help needed in fencing, garden, reforestation and with the animals. An old barn has been restored into a dormitory to accommodate visitors. It is set amongst many mountain tracks and is ideal for anyone that likes wild, dramatic landscapes. A native tree nursery is being set up to reforest the area. It has been devastated by a forest fire in 2003. Planting trees and local shrubs occurs in the Autumn and early Spring. Peacocks, pheasants, bantams and ducks are free range together with chickens and turkeys.

On our 10 hectares "ecological reserve" land, we have fig trees, almond trees, olive trees and carob trees. We are planning to make a part of the land as a rural tourist area, where people can stay in one of the 7 old houses of which a few are still ruins. We purchased most of the land and the houses a short time ago. For the last 20 years no maintenance has been done at all. So we can use a lot of help in cleaning old trees and in the summer picking the figs, carobs and almonds. But also gardening work has to be done and a lot of general maintenance. You will have your own little cottage to stay.

27 ha of forest land with organic vegetable gardens. We are about 20 km inland from the Atlantic coast, the house and land is on a hill ca. 450 m high with an amazing view over endless hills. We have forest land high in the hills of South Alentejo, which completely burned in 2003. So a lot of wood clearing, and later on replanting of the forest is to be done. We have an organic garden for our own vegetables, and several areas which used to be gardens and can be prepared again, partly for fruit trees, Aloe Vera gardens, vegetables etc. Beautiful views and a very powerful place, with a lot of water for this area, and good soil.

We need help doing hay and silage, miscellaneous barn and farm yard repairs. Picturesque Cape Clear Island is famous for its beauty and miles of coast line and stone walls scattered over the hills. It is a stopping off place for migrating birds from South America to Europe and vice versa. Our farm is located about 1/2 mile from the pier overlooking South Harbour. We have unobstructed acres along the harbour leading down to the Atlantic. Our farm is hundreds of years old. There is great fishing on the farm itself. We have a very small bungalow with about an acre of untamed garden. The perimeter of the land has been used as a dump by previous owners. The property is bordered by a small stream, which we would like to make environmentally pleasing for wild life. The work would consist of general land clearance / tree maintenance / vegetable growing and general garden help for 4 or 5 days a week. We are part of the local music scene and would welcome musical WWOOFers. Caravan Accommodation. With regret we cannot accept dogs. Hours and stays are negotiable.

We have a beautiful 10 acre organic small holding in West Cork. We run a small yard for horses and ponies. We would love help in all areas of the farm, from developing and producing the vegetable plots, maintaining and painting the fencing, stone-picking the pasture, stable work, creating a new organic orchard and painting the farm's rustic courtyard. We welcome WWOOFers at all times of the year and accommodation will be provided in a caravan in the courtyard.

We are a two person collective, farming a 2 1/2 acre victorian walled garden that adjoins a 13th century castle. We are 50 minutes from Cork City, 45 from Limerick City, and 1 hour from Killarney. We are growers of culinary herbs, salad crops, and select vegetables. We also grow some fruit, medicinal herbs, and a wide selection of oddities. We are practising seed saving, permaculture, wine and jam making, beekeeping, making herbal medicine, and other aspects of self sufficiency. The entire estate comprises two hundred acres with many old trees and new woodlands that is fantastic for walking and exploring. There is also a wide array of wild and domestic animals. Accommodation is in a small, lovely wooden house within the walled garden. We eat lots of elaborate salads. For photos of the castle see our website:

The Strand is a small organic smallholding of which we are tenants of 15 years. Situated on a beach in Roaring Water bay we collect seaweed for fertilizer. We also own 2 sailing boats one which is on the historic ships register. We keep hens and plan to get a donkey as there is no road access here. At low water we are a short walk across the beach. Most of our food is grown in a polytunnel and a permaculture garden. Spectacular views out to the fastnet and varied birdlife. Over the years quite a few people have passed thro, at present we are just 2 adults, a cat {longest resident}, a dog and cock and hens. Great place for beach parties and we encourage drumming and live music.

We need help in our herb and vegetable garden + polytunnel (1 acre on 100 acre farm). We sell some of our produce on local markets and in shops and run a small business of making herbal products, so some of the work involves processing herb for making herb teas, oils, creams. During the winter help is needed on the main farm with tree planting + tree shaping. An opportunity for people with a genuine interest and dedication for working with the land to learn more about growing and the benefits of herbs. The host \ contact family are living in Tuamgraney village. The garden is part of an organic farm just outside the village. Your bedroom will be on that farm (as we have no extra room in our house), but we will look after your meals and transport (bycicle available). Only during the winter period you will be fully based on the farm. In the farmhouse you will share a kitchen/living area with the owner (1 adult).

We live on a beautiful farm in the West of Ireland. Set around an 18th century farmhouse with converted stables and many mature hardwood trees with lake view. Tullyboy is a real working family farm with a low budget and high maintenance open to visitors. Our busiest time is from May to August. There is always plenty to do but the rest of the year is quieter. We urgently need help with food preparation for French children and their leaders who come to stay in July and August. We also are trying to establish a poly tunnel for vegetables and teaching the children how to care for them. Help needed with animals, sheep, deer, emus, llama, pigs, hens, ducks, geese, peacocks, (all free range) horses, donkeys etc. Ours is a very busy farm with many international visitors and a lively and fun place to be but also a lot of work to do. Pub down the road 1km, village is 2 km, towns 6 km. Beside Lough Key Forest Park. Sense of humour and some English. We will provide full bed and board and transport from/to the local train/bus station and elsewhere within reason. We live very close (about 2 km) to the beautiful Lough Key National Forest Park and 8km from Carrick on Shannon which is a very lively town with good nightlife. We would ideally like a woman to help with the housework and a man or woman with the animals/poly tunnel. Belmont plantation is the sixteenth century 400 acre plantation. It is primarily an agro-eco-community tourism product. Grenada was hit by Ivan the hurricane on September 07, 2004 and the agricultural sector was devastated. Many farmers lost their homes, their crops and all their possessions. Belmont also houses the chocolate factory and has 100 acres of organically certi cocoa. Its primary crop was nutmeg. In the recovery of agriculture we seek to diversify and there are plans to increase our animal husbandry, and wildlife conservation. Please notify as one month in advance for placements.

I live in the centre of a former sugar cane estate. I have 60 goats which I milk, and then turn into feta cheese and yogurt. I also have around 60 free range chickens. I am looking for some help with my animals. The help that I require will entail general maintenance of my goats and work within the dairy. Experienced persons are preferred. It is only a 15 minute drive either to the Atlantic Ocean or to the Caribbean Sea. For more information please visit my web-site.

We have 16 acres of land farmed organically in Tobago. The land is divided into pastures where we graze our 7 horses, which we use for trekking throughout 500 acres of wild bush terrain; we also grow short crops and culinary herbs. We need help through out the year. We ask for experienced persons to work with the horses and to work in the garden. We enjoy a diet of vegetarian food and the use of natural remedies where possible. Our home is based in the middle of friendship estate, which is an old coconut plantation, only a few minutes' walk to the Atlantic. As Tobago is a small island you can reach almost anywhere within a very short space of time with the use of public transport.
